Project Dwa kroki do integracji: kultura i język was implemented in term from 20.09.2018 to 20.12.2018 r.  as a part of the cooperation of the Educational Society of Zielona Góra "CIVILITAS" with the Institute of Polish Philology of the University of Zielona Góra

The project aimed to deepen the sense of linguistic and social community among Polish and foreign-speaking youth and adults, currently living in the Lubuskie Voivodeship. The aim of the project was the active taking part of participants in integration activities, during which they learned how to cooperate and overcome linguistic and cultural barriers, and improved the use of the Polish language. Improving the knowledge of the Polish language developed the communication possibilities of foreigners, the aim of which was environmental integration. The workshops were intercultural and influenced, as intended, the level of integration through understanding, learning, and cooperation.

The integration workshops and workshops improving the use of the Polish language by foreigners were carried out to the extent planned with the active participation of foreigners (28 people) and Polish volunteers (25 people), 54 hours of classes were held in total. Undoubtedly, the assumed goals have been achieved. This was indicated by the positive atmosphere of the classes, good attendance at the classes, as well as the conducted measurement (evaluation carried out at the end of the project). In addition, the participants (foreigners) pointed to the fact that the project was an opportunity to meet people from their country of origin residing in the Lubuskie Voivodeship and created an opportunity for mutual support, they reported readiness to participate in further similar projects.

The task was carried out mainly in the rooms of the Institute of Polish Philology of the University of Zielona Góra in Zielona Góra. The recruitment of foreigners was carried out through the website established in the first project ("Language is a window to the world"). Volunteers were recruited from among students and employees of the University of Zielona Góra and older students, 25 people volunteered to participate in the project for various hours (from 2 to 20), 220 hours of lessons were completed in total (including preparatory meetings).

The project was implemented by the Educational Society of Zielona Góra "Civilitas" and the Institute of Polish Philology. The personal contribution is a significant substantive, technical and organizational contribution of several members of ZTE "Civilitas" and academic teachers and Ph.D. students of the University of Zielona Góra at the stage of project preparation, and during its implementation also students and people from outside the university, acting as volunteers - animators. Integration classes were conducted by a Ph.D. student of IFP, Elżbieta Gazdecka, language classes were conducted by IFP employees, Dr. Magdalena Jurewicz-Nowak and Dr. hab. Iwona Pałucka-Czerniak. The meeting closing the project, during which the participants heard a lecture on human and children's rights (conducted by the president of ZTE "Civilitas", Mr. Dobiesław Barczyński) and received a certificate of participation in the project, was held on November 26, 2018.

Integration workshops (24 hours) and workshops improving the use of the Polish language (during 30 hours) were free of charge, promoted openness towards strangers, contributed to deepening the sense of language community of Polish and foreign-speaking youth and adults, facilitating integration and environmental assimilation. The active participation of participants in the integration activities stimulated cooperation and overcoming linguistic and cultural barriers thanks to the dynamic approach to the linguistic identity of the participant, respect for his language, and a sense of national and cultural belonging. It allowed for the creation of positive relationships. The organization of integration and language workshops contributed to the knowledge and promotion of Poland and the Lubuskie Voivodeship, creating the basis for assimilation, social and cultural activity.
